Based in The Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, we have provided help and guidance for many individuals keen to record their life stories, family histories or novels.
We don’t restrict our clients to package deals or fixed prices, because we know from experience every book and every author is different. We work in an open and approachable way, to ensure that the process of bringing your story to life is an enjoyable and rewarding one.
The team is led by Tony Tingle, whose 25 years’ plus experience in the publishing, print and communications industry is the cornerstone of the business. Tony was formerly a member of the management team at Eaglehead Publishing, a specialist publisher of trade magazines and technical books about print and print management. Memoirs Books is his latest publishing venture. Already Memoirs has published around 40 titles, ranging from children's books to self-help and motivational publications, family histories, personal memoirs, novels and career stories.
Chris Newton, chief editor, worked as a newspaper and radio reporter in his youth before embarking on a career in public relations, becoming a director of a leading PR consultancy. His lifelong passion for the written word soon led to a specialisation in writing and editing books. Chris’ biography of a celebrated angling writer and wildlife broadcaster, Hugh Falkus – A Life On The Edge, was widely acclaimed by the national press and won a runner-up prize in the Lakeland Book of the Year Awards 2008. Golden Game Fair, a history of the CLA Game Fair on its 50th anniversary, was commissioned by the Country Land and Business Association and had a foreword by the Duke of Edinburgh.
Chris’ third book, The Trout’s Tale, “the true story of the world’s most popular fish”, is to be published in spring 2013. He is now chief editor at Memoirs Publishing where he has ghostwritten or edited a wide range of books for clients of the company and contributes regular articles to the media.
Chris' experience in interviewing and gathering interesting information and his skill at writing and storytelling are a key part of the Memoirs service. He is adept at matching his writing style to the subject and the wishes of the client.
